Advocacy Initiatives – AGC of Western Kentucky and AGC of Kentucky PAC

Why is contributing to a PAC so important?  A lobbyist described it best “if you're not at the table, then you're on the menu.”  We want to be at the table!
Advocacy efforts were a key strategic initiative set forth by the AGC Board of Directors in 2021 as part of the overall strategic plan for our association. A partnership was established between the AGC of Western Kentucky and AGC of Kentucky in 2022 to grow advocacy efforts through a dual chapter Political Action Committee (PAC).  In the fall of 2022 AGC of Western Kentucky board members began contributing to the AGC of KY PAC.  A total of $9,000 was raised by the end of 2022.  A great start for a first-time initiative!  We would like to open it up to you, our members to become part of the process.

Why is contributing to a PAC so important?  A lobbyist described it best “if you're not at the table, then you're on the menu.”  We want to be at the table!  It gives our members and industry a voice!  Contributions directly protect and promote important business and construction industry priorities with state legislators. By joining forces with the AGC of Kentucky, our chapters can become one of the top trade association PACs in the state.  As a strong PAC, our efforts and influence will heard.  Currently, Dennis Smith (Pinnacle, Inc.) and J.P. Kelly (Triangle Enterprises) represent our association on the AGC of KY PAC board.  If interested in supporting and contributing to the AGC of KY PAC, please contact Chris Nelson at cnelson@agcwky.org or call 270-744-6261
